I am constantly on the lookout for great books and
other resoucrces that help me, my friends, and my
audience members live their lives to the fullest. My
workshop handouts always have solid resource lists
attached inorder to share some of those great
resources. Here are some of my favorites. If you
have any that you'd like to share, email me and I'll
send you a free Joyful Living booklet in thanks.

Art & My Web Site

I love having original art in my house...and on my
website! The artwork you see here is colored pencil
art done by Jan Weir. She also happens to be my
Wizard Web Designer, a creative graphic designer,
and a totally fun person to work with. Email her at:
jan@janweir.net and check out her website at
www.janweir.net

Books
Energy: The Ultimate Guide of
One-Minute Workouts for Anyone,
Anywhere, Anytime!

by Bonnie Nygard, M.ED. and Bonnie Hopper,
M.Ed., www.rdrpublishers.com
Most of my audience members are time-starved and
tell me they don't have time for exercise. Well, I
couldn't live without my regular walks outside and
my daily yoga (sometimes only 10 minutes but it's
daily). I love adding in fun exercises from this book
as well and it's a good starting point for someone
who has no time. Full of ideas for the home, the
office and in between.

Pencil Dancing
by Mari Messer
Don't you just love the title? The book is great to
look at, has a fabulous layout and is full of fun
exercises to pump up your creativity.

Poem Crazy
by Susan Goldsmith Wooldridge
I've actually never been crazy about poetry, but I'm
crazy about this book. My writing practice group
used it often for writing practice which really turn
into life exploration exercises. And, yes, you end
up writing poems of sorts. I remember how often
I'd say, "I know it's my handwriting but I can't
believe it came from me."

How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci:
Seven Steps to Genius Every Day

by Michael Gelb
I bought this for a lot of friends. Just learning about
Leonardo is fascinating in itself, plus you learn all
these things you can do to pump up your genius,
AND to figure out your life.

The Art of Innovation
by Tom Kelley
Fascinating case studies and how-tos from IDEO,
the leading design firm. Makes you want to work
there, or at least recreate that kind of environment
where you work.

Simple Abundance
by Sarah Ban Breathnach
I've been reading this book on a daily basis (it's a
one page per day book) for five years now. I get
inspired daily and eventually take action on many
of the ideas.

Care Packages for the Home (and Care
Packages for the Workplace)

by Barbara Glanz
I gave many of these as gifts the year I discovered
them. Full of ideas to generate spirit at work and at
home. I've talked with Barbara and she is a
delightful, heart-centered woman.

Wishcraft and other books

by Barbara Sher
Wishcraft is the book that got me started towards
reinventing my own life back in 1988. It's full of
ideas and inspiration and exercises to help you
figure out your life and take steps to create a life
that works for you.

Magazines/Newsletters
Winning Ways
Barbara Winter, P.O. Box 390412,
Minneapolis, MN 55439; email:
www.barbarawinter.com
I've subscribed to Winning Ways for at least
12 years now. When it arrives in the mail, I
stop what I'm doing, get a cup of tea and read
it from cover to cover. Full of inspiration for
life, especially for those of us who are self
bossers or entrepreneurs or want-to-be
entrepreneurs. Barbara's book, Making a
Living Without a Job
, is also fabulous.

O Magazine (Oprah's Magazine)
Not only full of great inspiration and solid
how-tos for life, but some of the best writing
I've seen. The one negative is the plugs for
$700 pajamas and $300 sweaters, but I figure
that is a necessary evil to draw advertisers
who can then provide such a beautiful,
content-rich publication.

Catalog(s)
I'm not a big shopper, rarely ever going to
malls, but I like to browse catalogs. My
pattern is to fold down the pages marking
things I'd love to have. Then I set them aside.
When I come back to them at some point, if
I do, it's often fascinating to notice how often
I think, "now what in the world was it that
drew my attention on that page?" The
problem with the following two catalogs is
that I fold down almost every page and have
no trouble identifying what it is I wanted.

Femail Creations
www.femailcreations.com
You have to love a catalog whose subtitle is
"A place to empower, inspire, celebrate, and
strengthen women." Besides having wonderful
gift items (for your girlfriends or yourself),
the Web site has some community-building
aspects such as introductions to the artists who
create many of the items, and a Women of
Courage section with stories about "ordinary
women doing extraordinary things."

Isabella
800-777-5205; www.isabellacatalog.com
Whoever writes the product descriptions wins
the all time prize for knowing how to capture
your imagination.

Other Fun Stuff
SARK - www.campsark.com
I have SARK posters all around my home
office and enjoy her books. You have to love
someone who lives in a magic cottage and
encourages you to "Live Juicy" and to "Invite
someone dangerous to tea."

Cards and Posters
by Mary Anne Radmacher; www.wordshop.com
Mary Anne is a fabulous artist/writer out of
Oregon. You can find her cards and posters in
stores throughout the country. She also has
three stores of her own in Oregon. The mug I
drink my morning coffee from is one of hers
reminding me, "I come to the sea to breathe."
I've sold many of her "Live With Intentions"
posters at my workshops because it captures
the concepts I believe and teach.
